Hmmm, is that a new Starboard model?  It looks a little blurrrrry.  Are they calling it the Starnb?   ;)

Looking at the waves in the background, I think my 10'4" woulda killed it.

Slick looking board though. I think the RNB looks a little more likely to work well. I don't quite understand the stinger on the "long" side. What would that do?

I'd be calling that a flier rather than a stinger and I'm guessing it's there to give a tighter bottom turn.

Giorgio's board is a custom Dave Boehne shape (RNB asym Infinity) painted up like a SB and Izzy's board is a custom Pat Rawson shape (like Mo's board Focus) painted up like a SB. Currently the 2 best shapers/designers in the performance SUP game hands down.

No surprise there, in fact i kind of assumed it. Starboard is very pragmatic about that kind of thing. Their downwind racers are on starboard-painted SIC's.

DW, I figured the stinger (or flier) was to give the effect of two rail lines, but it seems to go against the idea of an assymetric board. I guess it's a hedge.

I ride an assym RNB similar to the ones pictured only scaled for my older and larger shape. I was very skeptical of getting one at first but I really love the way it surfs. It basically allows me to ride a 7'6" board that feels considerably shorter when I do heelside turns. I can square off the bottom backside and come at the lip at a much steeper angle,  probably 15 degrees or more, then I could on a more traditional tail. It also reduces the radius of a frontside snap or wrap quite a bit. It's been a very fun experiment and I'm glad I got it,  though I do think it's a fairly limited application to more high performance boards.

I'm really digging the asym tail on my 7'6 RNB.  I'm not the most skilled guy so any advantage I can get, I'll take--including that #heelsideadvantage.  I've mostly been riding it front side, but I've really noticed that shorter heel side rail when I'm turning off the top.  I'm not hacking and slashing by any means, but even just a mellow turn of the top is coming easier for me with the asym tail.

I still haven't really gotten into the right conditions to give my 8'6 RNB's asym tail a good test. I had one day on some mellow back side waves down SoCal when I first got it that felt great, but that might have had a lot to do with the stoke of a new board (and surfing in board shorts again!).  I'm hoping the gains I'm feeling on my 7'6 with the asym tail will translate to the bigger 8'6 (which is a pretty big board for my 145 lbs--truly my cruiser).
