shark repellants colors and patterns
« on: September 02, 2015, 02:10:17 PM »
I remember that a while back there was a topic hear about shark repellants   most interesting was the  electric one  that put out a signal  and supposedly worked well and was going on sale. Did anyone ever see a follow up on that?
on a similar note   what about patterns like stripes etc.   do those work?   is there any research to back any of this up?
I actually saw a guy at Terramar  ( 2 guys that   had the bottom of their boards  sort of zebra striped)  any  sense in that?

I can personally guarantee that the lionfish rashguard will deter any shark.

Pretty sure it deters a lot of things...... ;)

Every time I see/hear a conversation like this I'm going to think about the seal suited jitterbug rapala man from last Sunday.

There was a piece on Discovery about a small scale test on colors. Very limited so not very useful but they saw a preference for red and yellow. This actually isn't the one I'm taking about but....

and of course the mythbusters.
