DIY board sock
« on: August 28, 2015, 04:22:51 PM »
I'm looking to make an elastic-casing board cover/sock for short term transporting of my SUP.  Traveling the highways to lakes out here in AZ can yield road debris being kicked up by trucks.  (I've got a full bag for longer trips.)  Any of you have experience in making your own?  Anything in particular I should consider when "designing" this thing?  One of the examples (attached)that I'm considering copying doesn't have deep coverage inside the rails ... so I'm wondering if wind can get up easily inside a sock like this.  Thanks in advance for any thoughts and/or tips!   :-*

Ralph, at Sup-Position sells these probably almost as cheaply as you could make one.  I bought one from him about a year ago, don't remember the price, but it seemed pretty low.  Ralph is a sponsor on this site  http://www.sup-position.com/
