How's the temp where you are at?
« on: August 28, 2015, 02:36:45 PM »
It is so stinking hot here, I was burning up in a rash guard and board shorts at 7 AM.  Sweating like a pig and jumping off my board every few minutes just to cool off.  Humidity is in the 75 to 90% range depending on time of day, so that's a big factor.  At least we have waves and clean conditions.

How's the temp where you are?

Santa Cruz has been warm in 80's with about ten to fifteen extra degrees for inland Pleasanton.

The locals are acting like they are choking with heat, so spoiled, but it has only been in the mid to high 80's.

Water says up to 65 degrees, which are more like SoCal temps, not Santa Cruz temps, but it still feels chilly at times and some waves seem to bring colder currents with them.

I like surfing in overhead fog, but there have recently been some gem-like sunny days here on the water, too, which are welcome once in a while.

Maui is HOT with plenty of humidity. Water is around 80+degrees and air temps in the 90's in the afternoons. Humidity has been above 70%. We've been without much wind although it's breezy on the north side today. Surf on the south and west sides with light winds has provided some relief although once the strong sun gets up in the sky, like 10 or 11 AM, I personally have to retreat inside. There's two very significant hurricanes aimed right at the islands that are expected to affect us by Monday.

Southern New England is perfect low 80's to mid 70's, water temp mid 70's, and summer tourist season over in another week, Sept-Nov is what we look forward to as tropical storms and hurricanes bring us nice swell !!

Where are you?
Portland, Oregon.  Hottest, driest summer I can remember, but still technically colder than hell.

I was there about 7am and two sup guys next to me put on fullsuits. I asked, "aren't you guys going to get hot?" They both said they have never gone out without a wetsuit. I told them I haven't worn even a vest since last winter. I hate being hot. Waves were fun today and it was glassy. It was even still holding at high tide.
It's not overhead to me!

Zoo, now imagine you're NOT in the water.  I'm still limping from that fin gash on my sole/arch. Maybe tomorrow morning, next week for sure.

Sheesh!  Yeah, being dry, when you are a surfing addict such as we are, is torture.  The heat just exacerbates the mental pain.  We gotta hit T6 again sometime soon.

Pretty close to the same here except our water is only about 73 deg F.
