On my Foote board that is 32 wide I have quads and they have worked so good that I have not tried it as a tri.  My JP surf only has tri so I do not have the option of quad. So far it works good as a tri but it has been so flat I have only had it out once this summer.  I wish I had the option of riding it as a quad.

Currently only riding singles and twins under 30".

But, back in the day (last month) I was riding a quad set up on a 29.5.  Very quick and loose - skatey.

Both my boards are set up quad with nubsters.

Quads seem to provide some extra speed which is good to have on our slow waves, and I like how they turn.

I can't tell yet how the nubsters affect the ride but something about them looks right and I like the theory behind the idea.

I prefer quads or twins on boards under 30" wide. I don't like going over 30".
If its bigger I use a thruster setup on a 28" board.

100% thrusters  for  me .  My widest  board  is 30 in. I like  the  drive  from  thrusters .

I would love to hear more about that. What tails go with what fins?
