What is your preferred paddling side vs surf stance

I'm regular footed. I find that I paddle flat water better on my left side. It just seems that my technique is (slightly!) better? However,  when catching waves, I'm much more comfortable paddling on my right side.

As a regular-footer I would always favor right side paddling.  But lately it really just depends on where I want to position my board in the wave.  Like STC mentioned, in a staggered stance, left foot slightly forward, I feel I get really good strokes on my left side.

i am reg footed, and usually paddle in as tho dropping into a right, even when i know ill be going left. if left, i turn as i drop, with no real problem.

so for me it's more about getting comfortable turning either way to paddle into the wave--been forcing myself to turn both ways--no problem paddling/balancing on either side--clearly important for getting waves to be able to turn either way, quickly and with good stability--plan to dial this--cheat's pretty inspiring as he develops his strengths (fun!) but attends to weaknesses carefully (better fun in the long run). sux tho when i force the more challenging approach and waste a precious bomb! and then get worked a bit for my trouble!
