Strange thing is, I have seen fewer seals around this year than the five years I have had the Santa Cruz place.

What is it that they are planning on eating?

It's the perfect time for that awesome selfie you've been waiting for!!!
It takes a quiver to do that.

Was that "documentary" called Jaws?  ;)

When I was about 13 years old I saw a documentary on a town on the east coast who's sheriff wanted to close the beach because some drunk girl was swimming at night and got bit by a shark. The sheriff ended up killing the shark. No big deal.

The sharks are everywhere in Santa Cruz, it's not safe to surf there.  For your own safety, surf someplace else.  :D

I agree. We have big sharks, poor access, freezing cold water, sheer cliffs and angry locals. You should pass up this area in favor of better locations to the south.

Global warming has also made all the waves disappear.

That frick'n movie force me to start building skateboard ramps all over Capo Beach. I don't think I surfed for at least a year after seeing that.

I forgot to say it's very crowded in the line up too.

Hah hah, what a hilarious photo! (Oh gawd, kill me now for even thinking of going out in a crowd like that!) Actually, everything you guys said about SC is true except the part where there aren't any waves. ;)

I saw Jaws in a crappy old mosquito infested theater on Kauai and the hot chick I took kept grabbing me and wrapping her arms around me during all the scary parts. Pretty cool. :P

About the time that movie was originally released, I enjoyed sailing several miles off the coast and then go swimming.
I'd seen  sharks out there, but sort of overlooked it.
I chose to not see the movie.  I enjoyed swimming out in the deep blue water too much.
