Thanks DJ. It looks amazing. It's probably the closest thing to an all-around board I’ve seen.  I’m looking forward to seeing what Starboard has done to the rest of the Allstar line.

It's half Allstar.. half Ace.. and half Santa's red sled with its Roudolph red nose..  :) (if it was black there'd be a bit of Batman in there also)

Wow this board is already at 150%.  It must be good. ;)

As long as it's not half AST.

I'll probably get in trouble for this..  8)

The Starboard Black Ops Squad has been hard at work...  Any mention of the 2016 Starboards are disappearing from the net.  'The' video is still up if you dig deep enough.  That bulbous nose plus the full concave and chines are insane.  Can't wait to hear how it all works.

I was lucky enough to try some of this new 2016 gear a few months ago.
The 14' x 28" Allstar Ocean is a nice board. Very stable and still light; same if not a bit lighter than my 2015 14 x 25" Ace. (I only did some in's n' outs in windy lumpy conditions in Sydney's Northern beaches)
All the action taking place on the bottom is very interesting indeed and I'll be very keen to get it out in a good DW run to see how it goes with that big concave.
The nose is more refined than the coastie and has a nice amount of volume and rocker so big improvement for DW performance.
I also tried some of the Hypernuts, 7'2" x 28", 7'4" x 30" & 8'6" x 31.5".
My regular surf sup is an 8.0 x 29" pro so I tried to compare to that.
The 7'2" x 28 felt a little less stable than my 8.0 x 29" and the 7'4" x 30" a little bit more so. The 8'6" is massively stable for big guys.
It was a bit un nerving dropping in with such a snub nose and it took a bit to figure out where to position myself.
Once on a wave these things fly!! So fast down the line.
I'm far from a good surfer so I can't tell you how it really performs in the high performance sense; just how if it's easy for a beginner to intermediate to get up and going on it and it felt good.
The conditions on that day were very messy with a stiff offshore wind so I'm really keen to get out again in clean conditions.

Kieranrsup, any guess at the volume?  +/- over the 2015 14 x 28 All Star?  Thank!

No idea to be honest. As it's such a departure from the 2014/15 shape I wouldn't  be too hung up on the comparative volumes; it's a very different beast.

It feels to me like it has just a little bit more volume than the 2015.

A 2016 catalog has been posted online.  Apparently the 'All Star Ocean' downwind specific board is a misnomer at least for now.  Starboard is calling the 27" and 28" wide All Stars "fast Touring boards".  The other widths in 14' are 23' and 25'.  The Race is gone. The Tourings and Freerides stick around.  My favorite oddball is the K-15 inspired 12'10" x 33" Stealth fishing board.  Lastly, but on the current 'vanguard', a whole fleet of Hyper Nuts.
