Someone yelled go?
« on: June 19, 2015, 01:34:13 PM »
If you asked me when to visit here, I would describe the different wave periods but tell you to avoid June.  The most always flat month does once and a while throw a change up.
The group effort is a crew on a six man inflatable sup waiting on a set wave.
And I swear I didn't think anyone was going left, even thought someone yelled go.

Sun would have been nicer and my vid skills are still rough, but here it is.

Wow......that was some real waves! Looking good J  :)

Hard to believe that you could paddle out, through beach break, at that size...... very impressive.

Did the "team" ever plow through the line-up?

The paddle out isn't bad, around the right.  Ya just can't cut the corner, or after a left hope to sneak out a sucker hole channel.  And respect the shorebreak, don't exit the water under the peak.

The guys on the isup only caught the monsters straight to the inside with the boys making room.

Looks like quite a nice roller coaster, Jay.  It does tend to resemble some of the Northeastern shore breaks that our members video from time to time.

Nice srf and you're riding is really good. I thought it was East Coast/USA at first but a quick look at ur prof and I see ur FR. ONE DAY!
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

WOW!!!  My knees would'a been knocking on from the beach!

It's more like a fluttering in the chest.  The possibilities of poundings and getting my ass handed to me are still quite open at that point. I just try fight back with calmness and positive images in the head and remember it's just water.

Looks like quite a nice roller coaster, Jay.

Hi Carl, and it feels like that too when you don't wipe out.  Otherwise it's more like rolling bumper cars.   ;D

Thanks, just a regular joe with a bit of experience and good gear.  Come visit some time.

As far as big wave spots go it's an relatively easy one.  No rocks on the inside and no dangerous sea life. I think you'd like it.

I can't tell from GoPro shots.  How big was that.  Overhead maybe?  GoPro always make it look knee high.

Here's a still from J's video that hints at the size.
consider that the "Sasquatch" team was only taking the big sets and they are just visible over the top of the wave.
