Fanatic Allwave - Sunova Skate ..similar differences.

I had to do a re-paint on the Allwave to prepare if for sale ..and shipping damage repairs on the Skate.  They were both curing in the Sun....  Hmmm?!



The Fanatic Allwave is a 2012/13 ..9' - 2"   ..the Sunova Skate XL is a 2014/15 ..8' - 8"  On a postal scale the AW is 26lbs/11.7k ...the Skate is 21lbs/9.5k   ...max width appears to be about 32"/81cm on both.



Measuring the width 12"/30cm back from the tip of the nose: AW = 24"/61cm  Skate = 21"/53cm   





The first profile is the tip of the nose (AW-Blue ..Skate-Red)   ..the second profile the back at the mark at 12"/30cm.

Other than a couple of flatwater paddles where the Allawave had always been great at simply motoring around I cannot compare them.  I do like that I sink the rails and tail of the Skate. I expect to be more comfortable on it in surf.

most diy or tool shops have contour gauges/profilers they are generally used for doing skirting's or architraves in houses or just go on ebay. you can also get a metal pin type which are a little more accurate due to the finer pins. generally get the largest and deepest you can to get as much rail as possible. I have been trying to figure a way to try and make one that will do the hole width of a board
