Ocoee/ Parksville Lake

I recently used ocoeepaddleboading.com to run shuttle  for my solo run on a beautiful lake. A great paddle I do is from the Ocoee whitewater takeout, thru the gorge and across the lake to Parksville beach. 6 miles straight there, 7.5 if you paddle past to the dam and backtrack. I've seen black bears on this run. No whitewater, but you can paddle upstream to a rock shelf and surf tiny waves. Definitely will sneak away from work to this. Advantage is cold water in mid summer when most lakes are too warm.

How rough is the water?  Do you it's doable for a beginner flatwater paddler?

The large WW takeout is well beyond any rough water. May have some current for less than 2 miles that disappears as it transitions to the lake. Only rough water is from boat wakes. Definitely beginner friendly. There is a closer beach if you want to shorten the route. Flatwater friendly, I used a 25" wide race board.
