« on: May 23, 2015, 04:31:12 PM »
These boards were tested today.  Notice how the nose shape varies in each of the boards tested -

Overall the Race 25" is quick with easy glide - the Allstar 26" a bit slower with less glide.  The Elite Touring - Freeride - and Astro were quite stable.  The Sprint was not available but the comments by the designer to reduce drag and improve speed by 5% may be interesting to designer and race types -

n333, the carbon version tested was light and easy to carry.  It had good acceleration and tracked well.  Was fine to balance on and did not feel skittish or bobble.  Should be a sweet quick ride for surf DW and AW.

Nice to see the boards. On paper the 2014 and 2015 Allstar 14' x 25 look the same. I have the 2014 board and even tough it says it's 25.5 wide it just measures 25"
Starboard Allstar 14' x 25.5"
Starboard Coast Runner 14' x 28"
Bark Competitor 12' 6" x 28"
Fanatic AllWave 8'11"

The 14'x25" Allstar looks like a nice ride.  What are you liking and disliking about your 2014 Allstar so far?

Interesting to see that the Widepoint has footstraps inserts for sailing -- but they don't even make mention of it. :)

I like the guys at PaddleboardSpecial'sts, have bought 2 boards from them...
"Quality control functionality" and "graphics quality" have to be the two worst descriptors ever used in a board review.  ???

There's really nothing I dislike about it. It's fast up and downwind, stable, rides waves well. I think the differences to this year's board are minimal at least from what I can see and without trying this year's board.
