Memorial Day Weekend - Georgia

I'm looking for some cool spots to get some quality SUP time in this weekend around GA. I'm a beginner and still using rentals...looking for somewhere to just get loose on the board with low crowds.

Check out St. Simons Island Sup. www.ssisup.com they have rentals and do some great trips in the Golden Isles area.

Not sure where in Ga you are, if close to the coast try St Simons. Besides ST Simons Island Sup there is Southeast Adventure Outfitters, Ocean Motion and Paddle & Putt the later owned by Davis Love. I believe all offer rentals as well as tours. Closer to Atlanta try lake Blue Ridge about 1 1/2 north. There is an outfitter in Blue Ridge that offers rentals. Lake Lanier also has a couple of places for rentals but the lake can get crazy crowded with boat traffic on Holiday weekends.

Right on!! I'm north of Atlanta..thought about hitting Blue Ridge. I did do Lanier last weekend and had a good run...the lake will be crazy with people this weekend. I think I'm going to try Morgan Falls...I'm gonna strike out early tomorrow before it gets stupid and get a few hours in. I've got my eye on the GA coast...I will definately be down there before the season ends. Thanks for the suggestions!!! Cheers!

I enjoy Savannah Paddling. Tybee island. Thunderbolt. Plenty of coastal waterways.  Be careful with tides and knowing your abilities. Have fun.
