A knotty problem
« on: April 25, 2015, 10:20:50 AM »
I went out for a little sessionito yesterday. As per usual, I checked the leash to make sure there were no knots in it before going in the water. Waves were waist high at best and I managed to only fall in 2 or 3 times. The last time I fell in, I saw that there was a knot in my leash. WTF? So had to take it off, unknot it, put it back on.

So, the conundrum is how did that knot get there? Leash is 9', my board is over 9' so the board cannot get through a loop. I suppose my body could but the conditions were not exactly ones in which I was tumbling around with my board. I am thinking maybe quantum entanglement. :)

Anyway, silly little random problem.

You and your wave violated the space time continuum.  Either that, or you weren't wearing your bifocals when you put the leash on.

Speaking for Suppa, I'm afraid not.

You mean frayed knot.

A piece of sting walks into a bar. The bartender says, we don't serve string here.

The piece of string goes outside, ties himself into a knot, messes up his hair and goes back inside.

The bartender says, hey aren't you that piece of string I just threw out of here. The string says nope, I'm a frayed knot.

Maybe PDX isn't feeling well. I thought he'd be all over that.

knot, knot jokes aside, it happens. You fall through a capsized loop in your leash--presto--knot. More likely though is that when you put the leash on your ankle there was a big loose loop that was actually a knot waiting to be pulled tight.
