Anyone in SD want a *free* Cal State Parks day pass?
« on: April 19, 2015, 03:03:58 PM »
I'm leaving San Diego in a week and will have no further use for my California State Parks annual day-use pass -- good to get you free parking at Cardiff, at San O, and at a bunch of other places up and down the coastline.  It expires on December 15.  Yup, I"m giving it away.  The catch is, I don't have time to deal with mailing it etc, so you've either got to come get it where I'm staying (on Beryl St., in Pacific Beach) or meet me at Tourmaline during my daily dawn patrol sessions.
   PM me if interested.

Hey Linter,
Nice of you to pass it on....
What time will you be hitting Tourmaline this week?
I wouldn't mind bumping into you before you go.

Bob: would love to meet up.  i surf tourmo every morning from 6 until about 8:30.  it was freaking awesome today.  the wind was on it at dawn, so nobody showed up, and then it glassed off and 3' sets started to roll in.  for about two hrs, it was only me and a really good proner at the main peak.  and the waves were lining up perfectly -- ie, closeouts were few and far between.  man, i am going to miss this place!

[now my only real goal before i leave town on sat is to a/ not get hurt and b/ not get into a hassle with a local.  by saying this here, i'm hoping to put the nix on both those things!)

come on down!

What's the situation at the point for sup surfing? I assume it's not welcome there but was curious.

to be honest, i've never gone out there.  i've seen a few guys go but i haven't talked to them about it.  i can only assume they're a lot better at SUP than i am (not hard) and are consequently accepted by the pack.  also, it's mostly a right, i think, and lefts are more my interest.

Yes it is true..
I have been lusting after the State Parking Pass...
I already pay for the Huntington Beach City Pass...
So I usually just pay the $15.00 each time I visit a State Beach...
If one comes up I will take it...
