EZ plugs on pads
« on: April 18, 2015, 04:58:28 PM »
I have a few boards I'm gonna set up with EZ plugs. I'd like to put a couple of the plugs on the Pad itself. Anyone done this?? What adhesive would work and not affect the pad? THANKS

Just cut the pad off in the area the plug sits and paste directly to the board .  I dont think there is any glue that would hold good enough to put it on top of the pad ?

I was guessing this would be my best option. I was hoping not to cut the pad but I'll probably have to get down to the board for the glue to hold.
I guess lots of patience and trim pad very neatly. THANKS

The plugs won't stick up as high, sunk into the pad.  That's a good thing.

I did one awhile ago like that.... trim out the holes with an exacto knife...and then used a dremel tool with a small sanding bit to clean up the edges and bevel it all out...not perfect but clean enough....used the ez - plug soft handle ...lays flat and doesn't get in the way at all....enjoy

I did exactly this w/my NSP board and it worked great.  The key is to keep a sharp exacto blade - they get dull fast so use a couple if necessary.  The sanding kinda sucks and it's hard to avoid scuffing the edge of the pad while your doing it, but overall it was easy.  My plugs have been bomber, the glue they include is strong.

I agree.. You can't stick straight onto the pad and will need to cut out the pad neatly where it sticks..

You should consider these to the EZ plugs.. They're much cheaper and just as good..

I put 4 of these on my C4 iSUP, working fine.  Good waterproof glue is the key, mine came with it
