I'm in for the SUP Surf contest again this year. As long as there are waves. And maybe I can find a runner to do the supathon. Anyone wanna run in sand for me and make a team?
I had nothing left in the tank in last year's finals. We'll see how it goes this year!

Looks like we'll have waves but not the epic conditions we had the last couple of years. I'm fine with that....the carnage in the race last year was a bit worrisome. Surf contest should be more technical too.

I should ask my niece to come down and run for me. She might even be able to make up for my slow ass on the water. She ran for Chris Begg a few years ago and was blowing by everyone in the sand. Doesn't look like I'll be racing though....day of call for me.

THAT was a blast! Great event, great people.

Great event,  we had a blast.  My son was rounding buoys and doing running jump on the board starts today, the day after the race.  Here are a few shots that my wife Windy took.

For anyone who is interested,   I surveyed the distance to the buoy at 267 yds from where my photographer wife was standing at the finish line.  (Geek alert !  based on using a 200mm prime lens with 7 degree vert field of view on a full frame camera, 1.6 crop factor 7d camera, me 6t tall at the buoy at 337 pixels tall out of 3456 pixels)
