Nothing but a good thing. That's 400 idiots that won't reproduce. I hope his movement grows and grows.

Right on PB, you're a glass-half-full kind of guy!

Apparently this guy also has a restaurant; not too surprised to hear his Rocky Mountain Oysters are a bit undersized...

I gotta +1 to SeaMe and Pono

Unbeleiveable what people will do in the name of religion...and I'm Catholic (who've done MORE than their share of bad stuff in the name of God)

An excellent example of the difference between spiritual fruit and religious nuts.

Hadn't thought of it that way but you're right. It would be great if every religious whackjob removed his nuts.

There's got to be a way to get fundamentalist Christians and Muslims to jump on this bandwagon. Maybe something competitive--"you think YOU love your god--look what these guys did. Don't you want to be closer to god?"

Of course if one were to go to all that trouble marketing an opt-out from the gene pool you wouldn't want to wait a generation. Something more in the line of Heaven's Gate would be more beneficial.

It's a step beyond a vow of celibacy, which is one thing if it only applies to priests but another if it applies to everyone in the religion.  If you want to know the effect of that on a religion's growth, ask any Shaker, if you can find one.    Also there's a big difference between the temporariness of a celibacy vow and the permanence of cutting your balls off--in fact there is a vas deferens between the two.

I thought immediately of the Shakers. Nice furniture, cool pegs, but a really stupid religion. The only one I'm in favor of is Bokonism, and that's only because when you start off by telling everyone that the religion is nonsense and lies then there isn't much to criticize.

religions/cults are tools with which power mongers motivate masses. faith is the turning off of follower's bullshit-detectors. allows for the most heinous shit to go down.

mlm is a cult designed to dispossess the disenfranchised of what little money or credit they have.

i have been enjoying a lucrative short of herbalife--fun to make money from the demise of a cheap cult con.
