Hello I need some help from you veterans, I,m 68 yrs and in good shape. I have been on a sup for 78 days straight, I have a bic ace tec 12"6", a naish air 11, a bote drift air. I used the air boards a lot to really get the balance and adjustment to all conditions down. I have been in rollers on the river here, ocean swells and moderate moving seas. I now have been doing distance runs down wind on the river here in ft myers, fl. I want a gliding 14 now that can handle chop, but move and is light enough, also 27 or wider.
So many boards???
Thanks for any feedback.

I just completed a 50 day straight run of SUP everyday, thanks to Florida in the winter!

I've got a 14 ft Riviera Voyager.  But if I went out in more than a little chop, I'ld want more rocker in the nose.  It's more of a tourer.  I paddled an inflatable downwinder, but I'm just not an inflatable guy.

Good luck in your hunt.

TG. Welcome to the Zone. For a hard board, I'd recommend a SIC Bullet 14v1 or if you can afford it a V2. Try before you buy! Great all round board and does everything well. For an inflatable of recommend the RedPaddle Elite 14' Race. If you can get your hands on a 2014 version there are some good deals around.

See if this is still available over in naples. I have the same model except with a slightly bigger tail. I surf it, handles great in chop. Very stable, I'm 6'2" and 185lbs.

^ second. Great all-round board at good price.

You be surprised how stable a 27" wide narrow board can be. Has to do with the shape and full planing bottom. You'll also be pleasantly surprised at how nice a narrower board is to paddle, and how much faster they can be.

We are on a lake and the 14' Bullet V1 has become a popular board in our gang. Fast enough on the flats, so much more fun and stable in chop and fast'n'fun on downwinds.
