i stayed at lapa rios over by matapalo several years ago--sweet place, but pricey--easy walk to 3 great right points, and a 30 min boat ride to pavones.

We usually stay at the Riviera,( pavonesriviera.com). Beautiful place, well maintained about 5 min. walk to the beach.
