Something new from Rail Saver Pro.
« on: January 30, 2015, 08:33:27 PM »
Rail Saver Pro for your paddle.. www.railsaverpro.com

I was never a big fan of rail tape on my boards but since putting RSP on my Mana I plan to put it on all my boards.. even if just for those time that I let others paddle my board (and wack the rails with their paddle) and for those times that I need to rest my board down on its rail on concrete (save having to balance the board on the tops of my feet) and to be honest I think it looks pretty good..

It's a quality product... Anyway.. I've just found out about this new RSP for your paddle blade.. I've put my order in and keen to try it out.. If I like it I'll probably end up putting it on all my paddles..

I was was never a big fan of paddle edge products because electrical tape has always worked fine for me.. but I do find myself continually replacing it and is get little nicks and tears very easily.. They say this product does not effect the performance of the paddle at all.. and should last the life of the paddle.. If so I'm sold..

This isn't new but it's also great from Rail Saver Pro.  I love this on my DW blade.  Hate slipping.  Those rail guards look pretty cool as well.  These guys make great stuff.

I have the railsaverpro on my surf sup from Gong because that board needs it. The Railsaver pro works brilliant. Maybe I should get one for my surf paddle and one for the paddle I lend to people? I have to check out the pricing on those.

I'm not a fan of adding tape to paddles. but if anyone can make that work it's these guys. I imagine it's as tough as RSPro, which means it will still be working when cockroaches rule the earth.

I love the design of the end of the tape, clearly a product designed by someone that knows how to make an adhesive-backed material stay put. The end of a piece of tape where the sharp corner is, is where lifting starts for a number of reasons, mostly leverage but also multiple angles that water or air can get under the skin. That big curve will undoubtedly stay down super well, and the slot changes the vectors of the force on the tape end to more or less just a ventral direction and pulls the base of the slot down tight against the paddle. Beautiful and simple.

I also received mine and put it on my Holoa and did not notice any difference on the paddle.
I will not put it on my Kohini so I do not risk to break the "winglet effect"

Hey Headmount, how does that grip install? I like the looks of it.  I have used everything, hockey tape, wax, always looking for something bettah.

I've been using car door edge protector stuff on my paddle which works but as butt-ugly as anything I could do to it.  :P

Do you buy that RSP stuff by the foot? How much does it cost?
