What might be cool would be to surprise her next time she goes out of town by converting that Tesla into an El Camino.

Turns out that the Tesla with the glass roof actually has provision for a rack. Four little covers that you pop off to screw an adapter onto the roof. Really slick and super secure. Now I have to just convince Diane that it's necessary.

That camper is really slick Tom. My next project is getting the Airstream back on the road.

Those are great little trailers.  The hard sides make it such a better camper in wind.  The guys at Deaver Springs can build you a set of customs springs with valved shocks for a spring over the axle set up.  This will allow slightly bigger tires and better ground clearance.  If you plan on taking this off the beaten track it's a most do.

It has the 'off road package' which has 14" tires, stronger chassis and axle, and they raise it 5" by changing the torsion axle angle. I've seen the same model in San Carlos, Baja which has 40 miles of very bad road.
Bill, I think this might fit inside your Airstream.

That's cool sounds like it's all set up then.  I did not know these were torsion bar set ups.  Are you pulling it with the white LC 60 in the back ground?

Possible. Pull it in and let's see.

I dug around for that picture on the old website I built for the trip I did with the airstream, In the process of digging I found this old picture gallery. I'm going to get Nero (the trailer I built) back in shape this year for another trip. Here's what it looks like when the mice aren't having parties inside:

It's not my ride, but I thought I'd post this here to see if any of you tinkering sorts think it can be converted to SUP hauling usage:

It probably would, one of the main criteria for me was that it would fit in my garage. Its 183" long and 80.5" wide. I pull it with my Mercedes ML350. It only weighs 1800 lbs and can be towed by most V6's.

2012 ruckus..  awesome cruiser. very steady.. easy way to roll to the beach with my sup

Couple guys at my work got ruckus's. They look like fun! I'm considering picking one up to head to work and back (4 miles down the beach). What kind of racks do you have?

I don't expect much to happen with the Elio. Could you really build a crash tested, airbag and rollcage equipped vehicle to sell retail in the USA for $6.800? I doubt it. It looks like a Corbin Sparrow, which is much simpler, is electric and sells for $29.000. Similar mechanical complexity to a CanAm Spyder which starts around $15K.

I never say never, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for one of these.

This is the start of my trip to Jacksonville, FL. Two boards on the roof, a NSP 11 and an Amundsen 11'3". I got lockable straps so I wouldn't have to worry during the night we spend at a hotel.

I used to have Lexus and Infinitis.  About the time I could afford nearly any car I wanted, I completely lost interest in them.

I originally bought this for my wife, who didn't really want a station wagon.  After driving it for a bit, I decided to keep it for myself.  It's been the best car I have ever had and just seems to fit me like a glove.  I was going to have an upscale leather seat put in it, but a back pad made the cloth seat just perfect. It is definitely not an "image" car, but I don't care.

I hate washing and taking care of cars, so I roundly abuse my burro, but I think I am a Subaru fan for life unless my next one is a lemon. I have had this one for almost ten years but it still just has about 84K.

My wife has the Infiniti. My Subbie is work, surf, mtb, dog, etc car....i take excellent care of its mechanics...not aesthetics....even so,  it has rewarded me with no worries service. When it gets to 200k i might sell it to my mechanic (Subaru Racing Tech) and get another Forester....stick shift like this one...

3 wheel vehicles are "motorcycles" in the US they do not require crash testing, so it may be possible. The CanAm is a high performance vehicle and the Sparrow is a hand built early electric car, so both are more expensive than they have to be.
Looks like SUP carrying would require some creativity for that vehicle.
