The SUP guy at :30 was awesome.  Barely hanging on to an edge and making it.  Very impressive.

I'd say sponger at 45 sec wins the whole thing.

Tell me its also Kai at 3:01  :o

I need some bigger stones.  The crazy thing is that most people think 'I would never do that' or 'Where would I even start?' Or the armchair quarterback would say 'Yeah I would do that' until he actually saw THAT.

Sadly I have a spot that that is a bicycle ride away that will serve up that challenge a dozen or more times a year.  The only thing holding me back is  :-\

I agree. Not many of the young guns seem as diverse when it comes to the water as Kai is, or he's just better at promoting it. He also seems to genuinely have a true passion for being in the water and being able to make that his living. Seems like he's making all the right moves and he's damn good at everything he does.

There were several guys out on yellow boards, I assume all Naish's.  That guy at 3:01 didn't have a paddle and while I was there watching, I only saw Kai paddling. But it is probably a 1/4 mile from the cliff to the lineup so who knows.

I counted 40 guys and gals out there on Thursday and it looked like about 8 quality waves per hour. Not a lot to go around. There is a lot of sitting. One guy was sitting way out there and in 2 hours I saw him paddle into one monster wave. I think it was Shane Dorian. The interesting thing is the lefts were working really well and only a couple of guys (one a SUP'er) were sitting on the left shoulder, really working the lefts.

One thing cool about watching that place is the very loud crack of the waves. It is impressive to hear even from a 1/4 mile away.

Yeah no hip hop for this crowd.  Stoney's video had the best music.  Yellow boards were Chuck, Cody and Kai. Here's the young ones paddling out thru the zoo.   Chuck was also out and has been charging.  He's always ready to go to war and show his brilliant teeth.  Kody has also been going vertical on a SUB at Hookipa on non Jaws days.
