I like the audio from in the field. GoPros are notoriously bad at picking up audio when inside the waterproof housing, but Off-Shore was very clear, and I liked that you could hear the paddling effort in the narration. Many videos, while fun to watch, give the impression that DW'ing is just slightly more difficult than walking across your living room floor. I liked the realism of this one.  :D

It's good fun to participate in your glide, OffShore. It brings out that wonderful moment of "making it", or not.

The POV could do with a little upgrade however. Here's a little inspiration on a whole variety of mounts from none other than a Hawaii chica. Best headmount POV I've seen yet.

Sorry, but while I’m drifting this thread I can’t resist sliding this POV jewel in. No fancy music edits, in fact very little edits at all. Completely real yet completely insane.

Classic headmount POV, no music.

He almost clips a bald eagle midair at 2:36. That is something.

It's great to see all the feedback here. The challenge though that I took and I'm laying down here is to make a real-time on-board narrated downwind vid. No music, no voiceover, and preferably only one take.

I've set the bar low here, and I'm looking forward to seeing some awesome attempts where the word "nice" is not repeated inanely, sentences are finished and it doesn't sound like there should be a bed time partner on the board with you.

I agree the POV is one thing that we will be stuck with until we get high wind waterproof follow me drones.. Something to work on.

I used the GoPro 4 Silver with the touchscreen back which does have surprisingly good audio.

I would assume Candide is a young woman, but anything is possible.

Give that a typical downwinder is at least an hour, and my narration is mostly grunts, gasping for air, and the occasional yahoo, I think it's a good thing that GoPros don't do well with sound and there are such things as editing.
