Looks like the storm missed the Hudson Valley. Say a prayer for our friends in east Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Murphy's law:  your dog's unexplicable bout of nighttime diarrhea will commence @2am during the height of the storm.
Who knew the shower stall could be used for THAT purpose??  >:(

Out to shovel a poop path now..

We got more snow that that here on the shore, and it's still coming dow…err, sideways. As long as the electricity stays on I'm ok with that. My sympathy to these peeps in MA:

Snow sucks, but water is way, way worse IMHO.

At least your dog will go out. My friend's dogs just stand at the door with a have-you-lost-your-f*$%*@-mind? look on their faces.

Surprised and very pleased to still have power. I think the snow was so fine and the wind so strong that none of it accumulated on the trees. It's the combination of snow laden trees and wind that kills it and the trees are just dusted. Fingers crossed it stays that way...still a blizzard raging out there. Blizzard conditions are supposed to last until 1:00 am.

Yeah...the folks in Marshfield and Scituate always get slammed with a noreaster. The seawall breached and the waters rushing in....big worries about the high tide today at 5:00. I imagine Plymouth beach must look like a warzone.

Gotta run...the munchkin just came into my office...here's the conversation.
"Grampy...I have an idea....here's my list.
One...we get snowsuits on and go outside and build a fort.
Two...we go sledding.
Three...we come in for some hot chocolate and watch a movie...Rio 2 would be good....do we have marshmallow?"

At least your dog will go out.

Not voluntarily.  More like "launched"   :D

Solid 2ft in Plymouth area, and still coming down.  Windy as hell here off the water.
Good exercise shoveling.  Concentrated on 'stacking my wrists'.  KeNalu snow shovel would have been nice.

Wow Stoney, so much for a day off doin' nothing.   ;)
Creek, no surfing today??  ???  I hear Weed is ready to go...

Call me crazy but I am actually really missing being in New England for this. There's only so many 75 and sunny days that I can take - and I'm being dead serious. It rained yesterday here (holy shit!) so it was nice to have to stay inside. I saw a car flipped over on its side on a side road, not even the highway, because the roads were wet. I guess using your wipers while driving can prove too difficult out here sometimes. Stay warm and safe New England.

So far so good, the power has only blinked twice in downtown Orleans, but the internet seems slow wawa!

Too windy to shovel yet

Now that the fortunate ones have got power and warmth, what about a little fireside reflection on last year's kick a$$ season?

1/15/14 - CG was on fire with some solid chest+, clean, right down in front, near high tide, first thing in the morning action.

What about 5/3?  Solid with some near chest sets, warm, most of the breakfast club in attendance and a killer 3.7m sailing session the next day to round out the weekend.

7/17- 2 solid hours of waist to near head.  I think before work?

7/29 - My notes say a top 5 day.  On it before 6am.

8/27 - After work and before Christobal, nice!

9/17 - I think the it was the first time I cried from surfing.  I had to be back at work by 1:30pm.  Big Wednesday for sure.  HC Gonzo off of Bermuda delivered the goods

9/21 - 6 waves and off to work.  Thank goodness or else my skinny a$$ would have been kicked for sure

and oh well 10/20 - A great day of windsurfing in my so called back yard.  Too bad some rouge GW had to spoil all my effing fun!!!!

Start'n to think about the shovel - 3:15pm

5/30 - a profound personal life changing moment for me.  How cold could I be?  Kicking my beloved Gerry Lopez to the curb like someone else's trash.  Blame it on Dave Daum!
