Cobra buys Surfteck

The word is that Cobra has bought out Surfteck and has let go Appleby and Becker. How ever this news comes from Reps of different brands, so was wondering whats the word on the street and how does this effect others that used Cobra to make there own boards.

Interestingly enough, Candace rolled up to Dogpatch last weekend wearing an Infinity hat and she was surfing a shiny new pink Infinity Blurr with her sponsor stickers on it. Would kinda make sense since AV has been with them for awhile now. Keepin it in the family.

I couldn't  imagine wanting to let go of Candice Appleby.  She's great!  In person and on the board she's awesome.  But Infinity has my interest far beyond Surftech so stoked for Candice if so.

In the future Cobra will be "acquired " by SkyNet

As i heard it it was a "hostile take over" Due to unpaid bills and the devesture of riders was an economic reality of that same situation...Another brand head for the scrap pile like C4 I guess. These facts sadden me personally

I had one of the early Surftech's
 
The Boyz said "We snap 'em"  neva did, and the weight savings was worth it

I thought, Cool, I have a lifelong reproducible shape....no more back to the foam pit every time for something less magic.

But economics what they are, they dropped shapers and shapes  (my Haut!)....now those shapes are lost like so many other bits of history....maybe some Kb on a hard disk somewhere

How about the Takayama's?  ....Unreal man, and godd shapes....had the potential to live on past his earthly existence
