Surfline is now only predicting 10knt offshore winds.  Maybe the monster offshores will not materialize after all.

It's howling in Irvine right now.  And no swell on the cams.  Not good.

Was just out on my race board. Tide was super low but didn't feel like much was out there. Wind was really starting to pick up on the way back. Looks like further south may be better. I'm eyeing some reefs down in northern SD county.

South HB was knee high at about 5pm. No wind as of 6:30.

Ralph,
How was Your Spot?
T6 was small to medium with very high, consistent offshore winds that made it difficult to drop in.
Disappointing...

Where do you find these awesome wave and wind charts?

HB Was a Handful
Well Overhead if you want it..
I could see down the line that it was bigger to the North..
So I paddle against the wind and current to get some..

Only caught a few but they were good size..

Will post pics and may be video later...

Met up with GoodForNuthin..

Last wave I just stayed inside and let the current take me back to where I started..

Just north of Swami's today was firing. Sort of inconsistent but when they lined up correctly, oh boy was it fun. Pedal to the metal survival drops. Sets were well overhead and punchy. Socalsupper caught one of the most epic rides I've ever seen and it was sans leash (snapped it earlier) which was even more impressive. Fun day to get tossed around out there.

I looked everywhere and all I saw were walls.  Big old walls with lot's-O-whitewash.  I saw two stand ups at the cliffs but nobody (surfers and SUPers) was getting more the a 1/2 second ride to a closeout.  Maybe tomorrow will be better.

That looked intense, Ralph!
Gremmy, you should have hung around a while, it actually got better.  I moved south a little and the waves were better.  There were some good sized OH sets.  Wind ended up pushing us well into Camp Pendelton.  Highlight of the day:  Seeing the clear silhouette of a "local" in a wave I was sprinting to get over.  That raised the pulse a bit.  It was a fun day, I'm spent, hope you guys get some tomorrow.

I'm having issues with my GoPro freezing up, this is the only footage I got today.  Obviously this was some of the smaller stuff, but they were fun.

Jay:

Good seeing you.  Interesting you noted that it got better; I thought it might do just that as the inland areas warmed up and reduced the offshores.

My session was pretty much a nada.  After hunkering down with some pretty serious wind gusts, I basically gave up instead of venturing further south as I didn't want to run the clock down in the search for a rideable area, only to be late to my kid's game.

My highlight was on the paddle out, getting hit almost in in the face by the lip of a wave, and managing to punch through still standing,   I was surprised to be soaked but still vertical, probably helped by the wind push.

I saw you catch a nice little left...

How big was the local?

How big was the local?

7-8ft range.

Good to see you out there too, hopefully next time we'll actually surf together.

I had a fun time at Trail 6 today.  I surfed from about 10:15 to 12:30.  It was pretty good between about 10:30 and 11:20.  I'm really bad at going left from surfing at Doheny too much but I caught a few really fun lefts (and some fun rights too).  Unfortunately I left the gopro in the car and didn't want to walk back up after I realized that I forgot it.

Nice talking with JayInSoCal.
