two pics from yesterday
« on: January 14, 2015, 07:46:11 AM »
7-11 in the morning, went home, inhaled food, little chewing, back from 3-6. Outrageous sunset and if I find someone who took I'll post later but it wasn't your run of the mill sunset. Perfect day and had to max it. Feeling it this morning. Here's a shot of Bill Foote and me both 64.  Felt like pushing the top yesterday and did so every chance I could.  Made several but this wasn't one of them, just the one that got shot.  Tom Jewel pic.

That looks fun.

Thanks for warming me up after looking at Creek's photos.

It was great in the morning to bag waves with no one in front of you.  When it got crowded Randy and I paddled a quarter mile down to Boneyards which wasn't staying open, then back to Lowers and then up the line where we got a few at an intense wave that jacks suddenly.  Dave K was there putting on a clinic.  Then home for a scarf and stretch and back for the afternoon.

These pics were somehow shot from a side angle.  If he shot from shore don't ask me how.  But it's much better at showing the size than straight on where the wave in front gets in the way of the wave bottom.   Like the one shot that shows the white water with a little morning sun on it.  Perfect conditions.

The cut back is Dave on the forum as DP Maui.  He's been ripping on his new cut-off model and is a fair sized guy.

Loving the surf shots!!  Clean and warm fun waves.  Getting the early ;)

I know surfing in uncrowded conditions is more enjoyable,
but shots of the same are more beautiful as well!

Here's Dave checking in at Lowers which he does sometimes.  With this wave you can trip out with boards like this better.  At some other much more demanding spots I've seen him use a board with much more projection.  (not so wide in the tail).  But I like this shot and his line.

Dave's boards are great colors for locating them in a rip if your leash breaks. White and dark boards disappear, Yellow/red.... more than just a pretty face.

Thanks for the shots of Dave.... but I enjoy the Zoner shots more :)
