Beautiful beaches, inexpensive,  good cigars, cool old cars... all true. A favourite vacation spot for us Canadians.

Things may have changed now, but when I was in Varadero 2 years ago I could not find anything SUP related.

How were the surf conditions and when did you go?

Went there Oct. 2012. We were there just before a hurricane so it windy most of the time. Saw kiters but no surfers.

Tom, I would love to get more information about your friends' trips. Have they gone and just avoided having their passport stamped?

They flew from Tijuana to Mexico city to Havana with epoxy longboards and pretty much winged it. They were going to rent a car but ended up hiring a driver. They brought a lot of personal items such as disposable razors that they gave away.
