Hmmmm...that article is full of pretentious bo@@cks. I can't read that sort of rubbish. Sorry but just say what you want to say Miss!

However....if folks say she is a lovely person then happy to go with that ...witha smile like that I tend on think she must be and so I wish her luck....just hope she lets the paddling do the talking....rather than the pen :)

My sentiments also.

Maybe this is whats really eating her....

"My 2012 and 2013 wins at Battle of the Paddle redefined the performance level of the women’s side of the sport. In 2014 controversy clouded what will stand as one of the greatest Battles of all time. To lose to a wave to a great competitor, I will be always be ok with. It’s not your ability to win, it’s your ability to accept with dignity the situations that you’re faced with…and to walk away being able to hold your head high in the knowledge that you were true to your values. That day and in the days that followed it was harder to say nothing than to speak up in the wave of controversy that ensued. "

So she got pitted at the creek along with everyone else and it humbled her??? It's not life changing! Wrong board, wrong wave. I've been pitted hundreds of times. Then again I'm not the World Champion! Lets see..... I left my pedestal somewhere and I can't find it.

She really is a sweet heart, and a true competitor. I've raced with her a number of times. Maybe a little naive?
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

On the other hand, I do think the 2014 BOP was a landmark event.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Wonder how long it is before Lahui Kai comes out with their "Ace" model?

The ironic thing is his new shapes are much more conventional without recessed decks.  Maybe he was compromising due to market forces.

When Szymanski's arrival at Lahui Kai was first announced, I made a joke on Facebook about Kelly Margetts paddling a dugout and I received a fairly swift and somewhat humourless denial that this would happen.  :o
