Here you go... I took our 12'6 demo out for a spin the other day to get acquainted.  I am very impressed with the design, everyone who has tested it feels the same.  It's fast, stable, and tracks straighter than some 14's IMO.

LMK if you'd like more detailed pics of the board itself.

Ran across this board a few days ago online and it grabbed my interest...the 14 footer for sure. Reminds me of the Hobie Elite from a few years ago tho there seems to be more concave in the bottom. Have you paddled both?

I have the Hobie Elite from 2012, so yes I have paddled both!

The Hobie has a concave channel through the center, the Starboard has a deep concave in the tail.  Never seen anything like it before... but it works.  I have a feeling it wouldn't be the best in the surf though.

Ahhhh......ok. Any comparision between the two?
I know I would need to paddle and there is only so much input you can give but I am curious about this board for sure.
Would it have a tendency to get pushed around in chop?
What you think about the Starshot version vs. the wood? Durability, etc........

I haven't spent nearly enough time on the Starboard to do a good comparison, especially since I've only paddled it in calm conditions.

But, my initial impressions are that the Starboard tracks straighter in calm water & is potentially a more efficient design (i.e. faster).  It tracks crazy well.

I think the Hobie might be more controllable in DW or surf conditions, though, mainly as it has the surf-inspired vee in the tail.  But again, the Starboard is untested in those conditions.

Our demo is the Starshot.  For the money, you can't beat it - the 14' is $1399.  I don't think you'll get more durability with the Wood construction, but it certainly has a nicer aesthetic.

I'll report more after doing a side-by-side comparison.
