Inflatable arm bands? PFD?
« on: December 17, 2014, 03:40:39 PM »
Can I use inflatable arm bands (deflated in my camelbak) as a means of a "on board PFD? Adult sized of course.

If you're wanting a pfd to meet the legal requirements and not get a fine, the pfd has to be a Coast-Guard-approved one.

Yeah exactly like water wings haha... I have limited space in my camelbak. I don't want to drop over 100$ on a mustang inflatable for my local chain of lakes.

LOL...I have no idea if or why you would want them but I had to post this pic....my buddy Jerry in the 1st CCBC in 2008....as a goof he was wearing littlest mermaid waterwings for the 1st few miles. It looks like Pono is running away.... ;D

God that board sucked--I dragged it the whole way. Zero glide. Looks like Jerry was on the same thing. A Laird. I remember Jerry's waterwings. I didn't care, I was just trying to get over my hangover.  Those were the days--everyone that did the first CCBC was on a surfboard, except maybe that guy with the homemade wood board. He had a great setup--even a chair. And then he pulled out that big fricken sub sandwich halfway there. I could have killed him for that sandwich. I would have had help.
