GoPro insurance?
« on: December 17, 2014, 12:27:39 PM »
I decided to buy myself a GoPro 4 Silver for Christmas.  For about $40 something more, they are offering loss and breakage insurance.  You break it or lose it, you get a new one. Have you bought that?  Do I need it for filming surfing attached to the board or helmet?  Do they get broken or lost easily in that environment?

Also, how's the battery life on one of those?  If you turn it on and just surf, how long before it quits?  Given that your memory card doesn't fill up first.  I have a 32G card that should last awhile.

Hey Zoo, if the insurance covered loss (bottom of the sea) it might be worth it.  But I've found my 3 year old GoPro to be pretty indestructible (in the housing).

I would read the fine print...
Plenty of tweekers will say they lost it just to get another one..

Best thing I found is to Start the video and stop the video after a decent wave.
That way you can find it easier.
Better than looking through 2 hours of video.

My Hero is supposed last 2 hours on a charge and I have never run out of a full battery charge in my long sessions
and never filled the 32 Gig Card with the on and off method.
