I feel you about the vision thing.  Mine's not as bad as yours, but it's getting there.  Yeah, supping is great for keeping your stoke up.......at least that's what I've figured out so far.

We should move this thread to the training, diet, and fitness category but you guys wouldn't see it over there either.  ;)

I thought of saying something like that too, but I didn't want to be accused of tormenting people with bad eyesight.  ;D

^^^^^  ;D

Wow, I wish you well there for sure. This........and other things are what making old just a downright bummer.
I never thought of that before. I have never seen well either, especially sharp and clear at any distance. Glasses for all but 50 years and always just kind of thought I was a big sissy about......the going fast thing. I know others, and there are plenty here for sure who also see awful but still dig going fast but for me skiing, sledding, boat, bicycle....I think I am going plenty fast before others tap out but now I can blame it on my eyes. I actually think that there something going on there. I could never really pick up a curve ball either but at that point I had discovered other things.......
I always blamed those stinging dilation drops for my glasses. First grade teacher must have noticed I couldn't see cuz suddenly one day I was at the doctors office getting those drops. Don't remember anything being blurry before that (of course). Next thing I know I gots glasses. I hated them. I hide them when I get around the corner on way to school. Weeks go by. Month or two? Open house. Parents ask my teacher how my glasses working out. "What glasses?"
Contacts for 30+ years and never an issue for me around water either.

Luca, that's cool. I like my contacts too, but I seem to have less tolerance for them lately.

On a related note, has anybody seen my damn thread?

I just noticed this thread and I know this is late.   I used to waterski with contacts,  and wearing swimming goggles over them was very helpful when wiping out.   I remember hearing at that time that it's also possible to get prescription goggles made.

I was thinking of getting some swim goggles. I don't need them for flatware, but I was thinking of doing some swimming to add onto my workout.

My wife is an excellent swimmer. I've been encouraging her to do a long-distance swim with me as an escort, but so far no.

I was extremely farsighted but did not find out until my thirties. By forty I was wearing thick glasses. Contacts worked for a while but eventually became very uncomfortable. I stumbled into Lasik when my wife, who was nearsighted, was having it done. I did not know they could correct farsighted vision and it was fairly crude compared to what they do now. Now fifteen years later we are both wearing glasses but much less dependent on them.

The bottom line is I can surf without glasses. I see better in the morning than later in the day. I don't really know why. Without Lasik it would have been a real challenge. I guess I would have stuck with contacts and the irritation they caused me.
