With wind like that, have you thought about getting into kiting? Its easier on the bod than windsurfing.

Very little paddling, with 25-30 mph winds 6 days a week.

Sup-p .... ha ha... must have been good!
I lost my first hat.... the next one, I bought too small. I really have to pull hard to get it on. 2 years with this hat. Buy them small.

Magenta.... I hate wind. Never really warmed up to windsurfing, Kiting is pretty harsh on the body... I'm saving what I got left for surf. Hey... maybe tomorrow  ;D ;D

I too have Exotosis It is non reversable except by surgery. Although I'm SURE there are things to do to relive the pain.

But I like being hard of hearing
Don't have to listen to whinning proners
Don't have to hear my wife's questions WHY are you going surfing in the cold
just makes my life a quieter place ... now If I could get rid of the constant ringing it would be perfect

Love your style Creek I ordered a hat but I can't ever look as good as you

I'm one of those weirdos where exotosis has reversed itself twice in my life. Once from living in the tropics and in the last three years due to wearing ear plugs. I was just talking to a friend of mine that had his head drilled and his doctor told him that exotosis is worse for some because some people have two or three bones in their ear canal compared to others that have only one bone.

A guy I know said he got relief from his exotosis by quitting going to the gym at the same time she does.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the issue is to keep cold water and wind from constantly flushing through your ears.  It's the cold that's the problem.  A little water leakage into the ear is not a big deal as long as the ear canal is kept warm.  Anyone else hear that?

In my case, 90% closure in one ear, not as bad in the other, if I get some water beyond the bone growth closure area, it's a bitch to get it back out.  Usually I have to just let it evaporate out and hope that it didn't leave any bad crap behind to give me an infection.   Totally not worth the hassle and discomfort, which could last for days.
Gotta plug'em up.
It takes a quiver to do that.

Yes, its the cold water and cold wind that causes the body to build up the bone to protect the ear canal. If you go years without wearing ear plugs and your ears close by about 90%+ like mine, then you really don't want any water sloshing around inside there.

Here's how to get it out.  I was 95% closed in one ear and 90% in the other, and getting water in there was a nightmare.  To get it out, pour rubbing alcohol in there and shake it out of your ear as much as possible.  Then, the most important part, use an ear dryer to get the alcohol out.  It works even if your ears are as bad as mine were.  Here's the one I used and still use on occasion:  http://www.drugsandmeds.com/individual-health-care/macks-ear-dryer-cordless-rechargeable-19995-1-ea-price-19995/

So glad I got the surgery so I don't have to deal with that anymore.  6 weeks out of the water, per ear, was terrible.  Totally worth it, but I don't ever want to do it again.  And if your don't wear plugs, it will come back.

IMHO you can't reverse surfers ear.....just make the associated symptoms better. Once those growths have appeared they don't shrink.
