Capitola Sunset

Went to Capitola at sunset this evening... last minute decision 'what the heck, better to have paddled than to never have tried at all'....  Grey overcast was illuminated by the setting sun as I got in.  School surf club on the inside on wavestorms.  I waited on the outside for a while, 100 yards out from the lineup.  Let a few pass to size up the break... sure enough, some are peaking up plenty enough to give me a ride.  To top it off, one of them bucks me off so I'm not even dry.  Drop in to one and take it for a nice cruise, kick out just as I'm approaching the grom proner lineup (no bad blood - I'm not in anyone's way)

Back out for another one.  I'm on my very old, but new to me, Starboard Blend soft top.  11.2 x 30 inches.  Sometimes challenging for me re width, but turns on less than a whim and plenty of glide.  Worked out well this evening.  Caught a couple more and realized everyone else has gone back in.  I'm catching one back to shore by the light of streetlights and sound of the Brittania merrymakers.
