That's why we only do one about every 5 years. They are fun but I wouldn't want to do it every year. I also couldn't do one more than two weeks, even that's a stretch. I like to experience places more fully as well...if two weeks at a time can be called fully. Not much of a cultural experience on a cruise. We crash at Pono's for a couple of weeks more frequently.... 8)...and those are pretty much all about the water. We also have stayed at a lot of all inclusive places over the years, Sandals, etc...those are brainless fun. Haven't done one since SUP come to think of it...most places have gear now.

Hey us too -

Huatulco and Tulum are beautiful in mex and Punta Cana in DR.  Been to many others - but those really stand out.  All must have sailing - and noticed that some have SUP now too.

So nice to chill at those places - all you think about is sailing sun and fun.

The cruise ship I would want to board would be something like this...

I view cruise ships to be the ocean-going equivalent of tour buses. I'd have to be hogtied for anyone to get me on one. Fortunately Diane is equally uninterested in them. Maybe a cruise ship that anchored at another surf break every day--and no one else on board was allowed to surf.

Well I have a special distaste for them.  After sucking air for 9 miles on a downwind run, I've turned into the harbor only to have our cruise ship monster dumping their crap.  Of course they're not supposed to do it but they do.  Probably little bits at a time so they don't get busted but they're like bad farts you try to hold inside.  When the slip out they sure stink.

And so we enter the harbor in oxygen debt and start sucking in that smell.  It pisses you off.

I think it's just farts from the cabbage rolls.

Captain Cook Cruises in Fiji now have a couple of SUPs on board their Ship Reef Endeavour and several on their private island. This company takes their environment and ocean responsibility pretty seriously being one of the biggest in Fiji.
