It's not often you see conditions like these on competition days. I saw they had to cut one day short as the competitors could no longer paddle out... Now that's a competition!

My only gripe is that I was hoping the whole time that someone would surf it more top to bottom, run it into the flats, dig deep, come up vertical...and DESTROY some of those lips.

You mean, what I think I look like when I surf?

Short clip to see the whole set-up.... something about those waves was making some of the surfers hold back for sure.... they looked a bit out of their comfort zone.

Cept Zane.... he was out in the flats and straight to the lip.... pretty radical SUPing on his wave.

WOW! Wish I could do that! Or anything that resembles that on any wave that resembles that.  :D

I wonder what it was.  They sure were whacking the...middle out of those things.  Cool to watch in one sense but it left you wanting someone to Slater those beauties.

Wow, what dreamy waves.  I think they were cautious of picking the wrong one and somehow ending up under impassable whitewater walls instead of popping cleanly out at the end of the wave. Could cost you the heat.
