Remember the Germans who came in gray?  It's probably good they don't have gray SUP surfers and gray skiers for creating battles with the green surfers and snowboarders.

Those are pretty cool.  I have to think the kids around here in Portland must get pretty tired of playing with their barista action figures.  There's only so many variations of Starbucks-vs.-indie battles you can do.

Mine generally didn't last long. Explosions, flamethrowers, bb-guns picking them off. My friends and I had pretty active wars. Plastic models didn't fare much better. Tough neighborhood for toys. There might have been an occassional barbie doll sacrificed, but don't tell my sister.

There was a guy in green army guy costume this year in Hood River. It was awesome--pained uniformly green, with all the gear and the "officer" binoculars. He was carrying the base with him. Every so often he'd drop the base on the ground, go into the perfect pose, and freeze for four or five minutes. Fantastic. Hood River is so much fun for Halloween. It's why we stay so late in the year.

Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

remember how when you lit em on fire, the melted plastic would make this cool zzzzippppp sound as it fell to the earth?  then i'd stick the hot end in my ear, because it felt good, and my mother took me to see dr. costenbaader, who pondered me through a fog of cigarette smoke and asked me what the f**ck i thought i was doing.  good times!

Little cowboy and indian ones too. Around middle school had a small pond in the backyard for a few years. Would punch a hole in the ice and bury our GI Joes in it. It would freeze back over at night. If we set him half way out of the ice we would have all sorts of ideas of what to do with his exposed top half, run him over with rocks, kick him, I think even light him on fire.
This is one of my yard ornaments in a planter out front. Old ninja turtle from my oldest boy and a barbie head from one of my girls.

None of these survived the prolific wars of the 1960's

Funny, just gave my nephew some for his birthday tonight.  Kind of out of place around his electronic gifts.  He's a cool kid though.  He will be the one out SUPing with me when he gets older.  His brother will be playing mind craft or something.
