Are you glad for the time change this Sunday?
« on: October 31, 2014, 12:19:41 PM »
I have to be to work by 8 every morning and I can't wait until Sunday.  Currently I only have about 40 min from first light until I have to get out of the water.  Anybody else a dawn patroller who feels the same?  Or, are you an after work paddler or weekend paddler who is not happy about the fact that it will get dark earlier?

I'd much rather have the light in the afternoon than the morning.  Plus I have about 23 clocks.

HI does not change, so, we now will have a 2 hr time dif with the west coast instead of 3. For that, I'm happy.

When we lived in the PNW, above the 45th parallel, I hated the time change and losing yet another hour in the evening.

This time of year in Hood River, it's dark around 5-ish and, by December 21, it's getting dark at 4:30. That's just too early for darkness as far as I'm concerned.

I get a little bummed as well. I am an after work kite buggier and by the time I leave work, it is dark and no wind. Weekend dawn patrols will be better but alas, I have to work Sunday morning (boy...nothing like finding out about that on Friday morning  >:(

Whether it's the spring change or the fall change, for a week I feel like I'm getting up an hour too early and going to bed an hour too late.

Well, at least one other person is happy.  Are we the only two dawn patrollers?

I'm paddling with  Caribsurf and OUTSIDEWAVE on this one. My least favorite day of the year and I am an evening glass dude. I need the SUN!
