I hadn't heard about this........inspiring. I'm surprised we didn't see/hear more about her journey when it happened.

Fantastic, an amazing person. I couldn't help but notice her paddle is backwards though. I wonder if it was for the whole 700 miles.

Thanks Stoney... good find

Pretty cool way to deal with a crappy situation. I'm glad she chose that way to pass her remaining time.

Paddle may be backwards as a symbolic reversal of her diagnosis ?

Agree with Pono.  Breaking all the norms.  Overwhelmed by the melancholy.  Maybe we should all turn our paddles around.

I think there was a full feature article about her in Standup Journal.

I sat with her Mom & nephew at the first SUP Awards in 2012 and her paddle down the Ganges won Best Adventure.  Her Mom gave a beautiful acceptance speech: http://www.supthemag.com/sup-awards/paddling-the-ganges-2/

I think there was a full feature article about her in Standup Journal.

The first place I read about her was SUP: the Mag:

I think she had already passed when I found the article, so it must have been in late 2012 or 2013. I'm surprised to see her mentioned in the media now, almost three years after her death. Kudos to CNN for putting it out there. The kickstarter to produce the movie has already been funded, and I'm sure the large audience that they reach helped tremendously.

Glad to hear that her story was heard and that it was me that missed it. Worth being told and remembered. The CNN story no doubt made the huge difference...when I 1st looked at the kickstarter it was at $28,000...it's at $56,000 right now.

May we all go with such grace and dignity.
