The 260 lb weight limit of the new Expedition with storage compartments may work for some heavier paddlers looking for over 330L.   Noticed that the very fast pin tail on the Touring has been changed to a more stable square tail on the Elite Touring models.  The many design changes between 2014 and 2015 is interesting.

There are now multiple SB Touring models - multiple Bullet models - plus many other one-offs friends paddle.  Currently 2 Falcons are waiting delivery plus a Glide.  In the past year alone 6 SUP inflatables have been purchased.  No doubt SUP is here to stay.

Fast is FUN!   8)

Starboard is insane.  They're coming through with some killer boards this year.

You can't beat their hi-end constructions, but I'm equally impressed with the new gloss-finish Starshot constructions.  Totally makes Starboard quality affordable for first-time buyers who may not be willing to drop $2-3K on a board.  $1399 for an Elite Touring 12'6 or 14' is about the best price you can find for a board of that size & sophistication, brand new.

Finally,an advertised touring board with lots of tie downs and decent widths. I can't wait to test paddle the 12'6x31.5 and the 14x30. Hope one of these will be the ICW touring board I've been looking.

Talk about variety. Even two different unlimited models. The Ace GT looks wild.

Looking forward to reviews of the Expedition and more pictures. Specifically of the rails, rocker line, and underside. The Storage compartment is a different touch, and could be useful for sure. I like that the All Star kept it's volume for the 14 X 28.

The listed volume for the 14 X 30, and 12'6" X 31.5" Touring models seems quite low. You can't go by volume alone, but bigger guys might look elsewhere. I'm thinking the decks must be really be cut in for them to get that number. I remember my Starboard Race 12'6" X 31.5" had a listed 290 litres of volume and it could float a lot of weight. 249 litres for a 14' X 30" seems low and so does 254 for a 12'6" X 31.5". The Expedition has a lot of volume at 334 but that's a big jump up from 249 litres for the 14 X 30.

Can't wait to try them either... I only tried the Elite Touring 11'6 & it did paddle very nicely.

It had a small hole through the board near the fin; my rep explained to me that Starboard is working on an aftermarket foot-steer rudder system that will be compatible with the Elite Touring series.  Not sure if they'll be unrolling that this season or not, but it's a killer concept.
