Btw, What non standard issue fins are you guys using for SIMSUPs??

Not sure what you mean by 'non standard' but I'm running Future Controllers on my S3. Haven't tried any others but these seem to do the job nicely.

Fin update -

The good: Kirk has been great about this and is shipping me a new fin!

The bad: The screw now turns fewer revolutions than previous. I can only turn the key twice in either direction  :-\

Thanks for input LunchBox. I just meant whichever fins other than the ones L41 uses. I def like the fins my board came with but just curious to see what other people are using.

As Pono and Kirk both suggested I grabbed a T handle Allen key. Took the screw right out no prob. Now the screw should be easy to fully tighten. Bring on the SWELL!!!

I got my L41 ST earlier this week, and have had two sessions on it. the board is very fast on a wave, probably my fastest. once you step back on the kicker, it seems it'll do whatever you want to do. it can turn skatey if you don't step back, but once you do, you can whip this sucker around. this is the 8'4"*31*136L model. I'm 6'3", 210 lbs.  for me, this board is both the smallest and the most unstable in my quiver...i guess that makes sense. i was kind of expecting the Simmons shape/wider tail to make it more stable, but it's going to take some getting used to for this klutz. I fell alot my first day; probably cut that in half my second day.  For comparison purposes, I'd equate this board most to my SUP Sports 8'*10" WD, seen on the top shelf in the photo.  Both turn very fast (edge to the ST), feel fast on a wave (edge to the ST), and present balance challenges for me (the WD is more stable). For more comparisons, I also have the SB Hero that i use mostly for windsup-ing, which is more stable than both and slower than both, and a bigger custom Simmons shape board (the green one in the group photo) which is 8'6" but alot more volume than the ST, and that board requires no balance skills at all as you can take it out in maximum chop, but it is the slowest of the batch on a wave.  All used in east coast FL and Cape Cod conditions.

You probably get this all the time but "Nice Rack." ;)

Future photo request.  Lay all those boards out on the lawn and take a top and bottom shot.  Come to think of it, i should do the same.

Fin update Part 2: some of my previous posts talked about losing a fin on my initial ST trial run. I emailed Kirk about my issue. Today, in the mail I received TWO complete sets of Futures Controllers. Free of charge. Wow, Kirk is a stand up guy!!! Much love for L41

STC - no go for me yesterday. I was under the gun at w*rk and thought the winds were gonna skunk me for 2nd time in a week.  Plus just got my 5/4 suit 10 minutes ago and had been sanz fin.  So, still only one semi-legit sesh on my ST.  Jonesing!

2 - at least 2 leashes
3 - 2 paddles
