Speakers and Mounts For SUP
« on: September 19, 2014, 02:17:13 PM »
Does anyone on here ever take their wireless speakers out on the water? Do you find any issues with mounting the speaker and waterproofing it? Just curious as to what's out there for being able to mount your wireless speaker while still being able to be confident it is waterproof! Thanks!  :D

I have the EcoRox mounted by suction cup on board. Works great.

Darn there were already many motorboats with music blasting to disturb the calm of the sea, now there will be sub too  :( so much for a nice paddling enjoying the outdoors...

I use my speakers to blast out the theme song from Jaws. That seems to clear the path around me.

Or bring unwanted interest from the deep sea - now that could be funny....but I guess the sharks have not seen the movies so you could be safe.

I put my iPhone in the shoulder pouch of my camelback with a lifeproof case inside a waterproof bag. the volume with the speakers that close is enough to make it hard for me to hear other people, but not too loud to hear the barge horn. And not loud enough for other people enjoying the calm and solace of the open water to want to kill me.

Well my board looks like a GW shark so it definitely clears the way. Actually scared some seals already.

Nice paint job, just miss the fin and you could clear the beaches of SCa :-)
Here we have the Orcas so that would not work too well.

Cheers,

Luc

If you could mount a wireless speaker that sounds better than the waterproof speaker......say a Bose speaker, would you utilize a mountable case that would be waterproof, while also still sounding good?
