Dylan:  He not busy being born is dying.
Neil: Rust never sleeps.

And once you're gone, you can't come back
When you're out of the blue and into the black.

That Dylan video posted above is potent.

Good interview of Dylan. I get why he didn't want to be the voice of his generation, or a philosopher-king. But simply that he didn't want to be meant he was great at it. People who want to be king, shouldn't be. His notion that the magic left him is no different from what we all saw. A genius, a poet, a reluctant philosopher-king. It never lasts forever.

the only guy I've ever listened to when he talked about religion (actually, spirituality) said to me "I don't want to talk to you about this, but I think I have to."

Always great. His songs play in my head a lot. the lineup at Kenaha can expect a lot of whistled Dylan and Neil Young this year. Yeah, I know you're tired of it. Get over it.

This thread has gotten better. Hey, admin, I would have called you guys to go to dinner tonight, but Diane is in PDX, and she'd kill me if she didn't get to hang out with Chan.

and yeah, I'm a little buzzed. So what.

Hey Rosetta! Mo Kenney. Jenn Grant. Dan Mangan. Matt Mays. The New Pornographers. Feist singing Broken Social Scene's Lover's Spit. Whatever that band's name that roughly sings about summer dresses. Please, please, just try.

Boy, I'm so glad to hear that, I could NEVER get U2.  Plus, their recording quality was wretched.

Somehow I got Al Jarreau singing "Random Acts Of Love" stuck in my head tonight. If it doesn't stop soon I'm going to be looking for a knitting needle.
