Ah, vinyl.  Still my favorite medium.  I have a high end vinyl system in Pleasanton and a low end one in Santa Cruz.

I still have a stack of records i haven't heard yet because the oldies are in chronic rotation.

These guys benefit from looking haggard.
Ah yes, but the jury's still out as to whether Merle has benefitted from it or not....

Any one want to decode "when you're out of the blue and into the black".  I've got my thoughts just wondered about others.

I hate that, it looks like they're trying to teach the rest of us to sing.

I like, hate it almost worse than like? Or like the rising interrogative? To finish every incomplete, like, sentence? Like the speaker is like so, like insecure? That they like need encouragement? To like keep speaking? Like drivel? And then they, like, look at their cell phone? Like after every sentence? Because, like, someone more important? Like could be texting them?

Where the fuck did that speech pattern come from, and why have guys picked it up from 14 year old girls who seem to have perfected it. I practically beat it out of my grandsons. "You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Then who the hell else are you talking... you talking to me? Well I'm the only one here. Who the fuck do you think you're talking to? Oh yeah? OK."

You only have to do that once, really.

I haven't bought any new music in ten years, except for an Adele album, and that was a momentary brain fart. Prior to that I had a room full of vinyl, and later thousands of CDs. There's a reason oldies stations do well. And those ones that don't quite know what they are "Music from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and today!!" don't do so well. I do like Coldplay though.

Even as a verb it kinda sucks.  Unconscious use from too much FB.  Jazzed is so much better.  I used the word trippy once and my Dad screamed that I didn't have the right to butcher the english language... as he tore me up.  I had to exorcise the word 'seems' in my recent edits.  Weak words aren't worth listening to or read.

You were a nobody, and now you're rich.
It takes a quiver to do that.

I always thought, death.  This is the story of Johnny Rotten.  All about burning out and fading away (rust) - two modes with the same eventuality.

HM, yes.  certainly Dylan.  Possibly my age at the time and looking at these guys as so knowing even when they were relatively young and presenting self written (gasp) poetry (yup) that made me sit up and think, there it is.

Damn, I was there. The year before I graduated from high school. With my old friend Carlton Booth (Bootsie) Oates. Bootsie died of AIDS about twenty years ago. A good friend. We went in his Triumph TR3. That car led to a lifelong appreciation of TR3s. I own three of them now in odd forms--two race cars (Peyote and AMBRO 001) and a street car with race car guts.

If Dylan was starting today he'd be on a street corner not making any money. Great song. When people rank on Bobbie I start saying "Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free. Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands. With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves. Let me forget about today until tomorrow."

They rarely have any idea what I'm talking about, which means their opinion is air.

Maybe apropos to the discussion at hand, but not all that surprising as to what we thought about, and/or how we expressed ourselves in our teens and early 20s, as compared to how we do those same things today.

Hell, when I talk with my two sons (19 and 25), I find it amazing at how their thoughts and personal expressions change from one year to the next....as maturity, and this thing called "life" sets in, and changes their view(s) on their worlds, and the world around them.

I'd feel it pretty safe say, that the political and religious views of a 19 year old will more than likely be much different when he is 35, and probably again at 55 or 65.....I know mine are/were.

So I don't see it all that amazing that Bob doesn't believe that he could write the same way he did way back in his youth....because he's no longer in his youth.

Sometimes, "Wish I knew then, what I know now", might not always, be that great of an idea.

Continuing down the off ramp~
Well there is that as well, and on that, I read somewhere that it was Edie that was the aggressor beating the crap out of Paul,,,,,,, she is bigger than he is, that's why the whole thing was dropped, Paul's pride.  But who knows for sure.

Joe Jackson (the singer) "In every dream home, a nightmare".

I forgot Sir Mick.  Nooooooo.  That is unacceptable.  Sir Elton, fine - really, who cares, but Mick?  No, no , no.
