SIC 9'0  fish, 11' Nalu, and a 14' Hobie. I liked the feel of the fish.

I did talk to a guy that tried out the nalu and a race naish board,  He loved the race board.  What did you think of the SIC Fish?

Hobie is coming out with a completely new race board next year. They didn't have production ready for this years release. They tell me it's a positive departure from their previous designs.  It's will really be able to compete with the Naish, SB, and Falcons. They say.....

The 11' Nalu was a dog compared to my 11'6 Nalu. Extra width, and thinner tail just dragged it's ass.

The SIC Fish really got me interested. 9' x 29 x 4.5 with a realy wide thicker fish tail and quads. Little V in the tail, low rocker throughout with a flip in the nose. It was super light, like all the SIC boards. I think the straighter Simmond's profile to the wide fish gave it surprisingly good glide and great stability in the chop. I actually caught a few mushers with, where I had no success on the 11' Nalu.
Maybe a new fish in my future.

It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

In the interest of not being repetitive.

I would have liked to try out a few more boards there, in the interest of research.  The big SIC fish, and the Focus 9 foot and Laird 10 foot soft top. I don't get to see many of the SICs out and I think I missed an easy opportunity to test drive one.  The soft top is always a good family and first timers concept and wondered how this one stacked up, especially after having so much fun on the laird 11 footer.

The other thing I got out of this event is that my current comfort zone liter wise is now 165 to 155, down a bit from 175.  Tuning that in is only done while testing a bunch all in one whack. I cannot begin to place a value of an event like this to dial in what you like and don't like.  So many boards, so much of the SUP brain trust concentrated in one spot, I'm not sure folks just randomly dropping in on this event realize how rare and wonderful it was, even with the lack of surf and big concentrated crowd.  Very cool of the sponsors to make this available and affordable.
