Fanatic Fly HRS finish.

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the 2014 fanatic fly "HRS" model in particular. Just bought mine online, have had it out on the water twice and have really enjoyed it. The finish is what I'm wondering about. The top deck is a very matte finish and looks like the graphics are printed on the top surface, also where the top deck (red matte surface) meets the rails (white gloss) it feels rough where the colors meet as if the white gloss finish was painted on last and a painters masking tape was just pulled off. At first I thought that there was maybe a heavy rail guard-like sticker covering the white perimeter of the board, but it's not. I guess I'm just wondering if there is a possibility that the board that I received may have had a final clear coat missing??? Bottom of board is also an extremely powdery matte finish in some spots almost porous.

I didn't post because you were specifically asking about a 2014 Fly HRS, but I can share that my board has a matte finish on the bottom and that there is a perceptible transition between finishes on the rails.

The bottom of the board is supposed to have a matte finish, but not porous.  The other things you mentioned sound odd. The finish on production boards is where I've seen the most quality control problems and they don’t often appear when you first get the board. For example, I've had the decal rub off one rail and not the other. It was put over the clear coat. On another board, small bubbles appeared on the clear coat after 4 mouths. Let’s see if a Fanatic Fly owner can chime in.
