SouthBay and I went to 1000 Pks about 730 today. I surfed until 1030 - 3hrs, that's good for me, especially after so much time off the SUS board. I'm feeling my legs tonight. Like you said DailyBread, nice sets that backed down some as the morning went by. It's been really hot and sticky, so I was motivated just to stay in the water as long as possible.

When I finally went in, I had texts on my phone from LPB and Kathy saying 'sign up for the 1pm shuttle'. So, there was that too. Maliko was on the light side as far as wind but the bumps were good. There were only three standups on the shuttle, the rest were skis or OC1's. The incoming tide should have made the water move with us but it felt like the opposite when we got on the reef from Kanaha on. Still, getting a good 3 hour morning surf session and an afternoon downwinder. I really don't think life gets much better, as far as I'm concerned.

We musta been out at the same time from what it sounds like.  Where were you 2 surfing?  In front of the parking lot on the right or down over on the left peak?

We were out to the right (north) of the lot. I ended up even further north later on. Fun morning!

By the way, PB, yesterday did catch up to me. I slept really well and woke up feeling muscles that I didn't know I had.

I think I saw you out there.  I recognize your board.  I have a Blue spatter paint sorta design Nectar Board, with Carbon rails, 9' long board shape.  Cove, what do you have?  Just says Maui on it.....

Yep, that's me.  Sorta embarrassing to let the Zone know in this way....here is a picture of Cove, while we're at it.  You'd think that its his muscles that attract the ladies, but its the way he continually beats down paddlers that are half his age. :-[

Nice pics....I love it there. Giampalou's Thousand Peaks video from WAAYY back is what set the hook in me and it was the 1st place on Maui that I surfed with Bill so I have a special fondness for it.

I miss Maui. A lot....  Got a lot of water time in the three years I lived there '86-'90. Maybe time to visit. Maui No Ka Oi

That's funny, I was watching GP surf last year and noticed for the first time that he doesn't really cross-step in the classic sense. he just walks in the middle of the board.

Maui is very much no ka oi. Looking forward to another year of good surf, good wind, and good friends. See y'all in November.
