The accent on her…it took me a half dozen viewings to figure out that she's starts by saying, "I want to challenge…" The last bit was loud and clear though.

Okay that was funny.

Now I don't take myself as the best parent in the world when it comes to swearing, but I am 100% sure that my 4 or 6 year olds would not have said "F@ckin' Hell" after I dumped water on them. Nice work Mom and Dad! : )

She's only two, and if you remember them at that age they're like sponges and repeat everything they hear. Even the most well-intentioned parents in the world will let something slip, and count on the toddler to repeat it at the most inopportune time.

When I was younger I went to breakfast with two very conservative folks and their two year old daughter. These people wouldn't say "shucks" if they smashed a finger. Pain in the ass. The little girl--cute as heck, put her bunny rabbit down on the table, slammed her fist down behind it and said "hop, hop you son of a bitch."  Best thing about the breakfast.

That little kid in the video did, however, use the term very precisely and with likely practice.

That is kind of what I was talking about.  Rolled off the tongue a little to easily maybe.  Still hilarious!

Occasional slips are going to happen in front of kids....two year olds are sponges and context is everything. They WILL repeat it and usually in similar circumstances. It is after all how we learn language in general. You try and point out that some parts of language are more adult than others when it happens and that they shouldn't use it.....that didn't prevent my 4 year old grandaughter from mumbling "F%$#ing idiot" in the back seat when we got cut off the other day. Which she then immediately apologized for.

If you think the occasional bad language is the sign of bad parenting I think you're being just a tad judgemental. I'm a city boy...crude language was and still is sometimes part of my lexicon. I tried not to use bad language in front of my kids and still have to kick myself today when do it. I wish I hadn't passed it on to my girls but the fact is I did....neither is afraid of dropping an F bomb as adults. But if you were to tell me or my daughter that we're bad parents because of it....I'm afraid I'd tell you to F$#% off..... ;)

How do we know it's not a New Zealand accent?  I can't tell.  But those guys seem to be sensitive about the distinction.

When my daughter was 2 she couldn't pronounce tr, it came out as f. So every time she tried to say truck, we'd try not to start laughing.
